Practice canceled today due to air quality issues
Good morning! The Rapids board made the difficult decision to cancel practice today due to poor air quality. The department of health shared guidelines with us earlier in the week that are also shared with camps and other programs. The Town of Rosendale has also closed the pool this morning to early morning lap swim and we agree that we should do the same for our team.
As of now, there is no decision made about tomorrow morning. Please plan to arrive in Rhinebeck at 7:45 AM for 8 AM warm-ups. The meet begins at 9 AM. Swimmers should check in with coaches upon arrival and volunteers check in with Tracy Steeves. The DUSO board is meeting this evening to come to a consensus about how to handle meets for tomorrow, but it is unlikely that any final decision will be made before the meet is scheduled to begin. If the air quality improves, we will try to hold the meet. As soon as we have an update, or a decision is made, we will share that information with the team.
We know many families have purchased or prepared items for Friday breakfast. Items with a longer shelflife can be saved for next week. Things like muffins and fruit can be put in the freezer until next week. Sorry for the inconvenience and we appreciate your understanding. Have a wonderful Friday and be safe!
