VERY IMPORTANT UPDATES!
July 8th
Hello Rapids families!
- Just an important reminder that the first swim practice begins at 8am. Swimmers cannot enter the pool area before 8am. The Rosendale pool offers adult lap swim from 7-8am and one of the contingencies of our contract with the town is that we will not enter the pool before 8 and that we will not disrupt lap swim. Many of our coaches and older swimmers work for the town, so families might see Rapids swimmers lifeguarding or our coaches lap swimming before 8 and assume it is ok to go in, but we cannot have our swimmers on the pool deck before 8am practice.
- Parents, please wait with your swimmer until one of the coaches opens the gate for practice. We appreciate your assistance with this! We have worked very hard to maintain a positive and mutually beneficial relationship with the Town of Rosendale and we want to support them in providing access to the many different groups of patrons who wish to use the pool.

- We have an update on our plans for the DUSO championship meet. As most families have likely heard, the Ulster County Pool had to close suddenly due to significant water loss in the pool after they struggled to identify the source of the leak. The DUSO board has held several meetings and plans are underway to offer a modified version of our typical championship meet. We will follow up with more details as we get closer, but at this time, it looks like DUSOs will be held at multiple locations, with Rosendale swimming at Hyde Park. While this will look different from a typical champs, it will still be a fun day with great swims, an Olympic theme, and tons of fun with your teammates!
- Wed, 7/10 clinic will be held from 9:30-11 and will focus on fly and breast drills.
- Wed, 7/10 meet at Red Hook (directions on SwimTopia). Warm ups at 4:00 pm and meet begins at 5. We are still in need of 6 volunteers for the meet!
- Friday we will once again be hosting a team breakfast! Suggested donations are listed on SwimTopia. Please donate an item, if you are able. Friday will also be CRAZY HAIR DAY!!!
- Sat, 7/13 meet at Zena (directions on SwimTopia). Please come dressed in a Hawaiian/ Beach theme!!! We are looking for full team participation for this event!
