Hello Rapids Families!

We're very excited to get this season started... However you may have noticed that there is still no water in the pool... The pool was repaired last week and is still waiting for a series of events to happen before it can be ready to use. So, this Friday, June 12th at 6pm will be our New Families orientation and meet the coaches at the Rec Center Pavilion. We will go over everything you need to know about being on the Rapids Swim Team, so please bring any questions you may have!

The new swimmer evaluation will take place at our first practice on Monday, June 15th at the Ulster YMCA from 3-5pm. If you cannot bring your child during that time we will find the next best time to evaluate your child. We are still waiting to hear from another pool, to see if they can accommodate our evening practices while we wait for our pool to be ready. We will notify everyone as soon as we know where we will be practicing. There are many variables here, so please be patient with us while we figure everything out.

As of today, our practices next week will be Monday June 15th and Wednesday June 17th at the Ulster Y from 3-5pm. We understand that this is not the most convenient time for working families, so please bring your swimmer when you can. We are working to get into another pool on Tuesday/Thursday and Friday from 5-7:30pm  next week as well, so please continue hold those dates for practice. If it doesn't work out with the other pool, we will hold "dry land" practices outside of the Rosendale Rec Center.

Also, suit and merch orders are closed. If you would like to donate lightly used suits and other team merch, please bring to any practices and give to a board member. If you are looking for a donated suit or merch, please find a board member at the meeting Friday or at practice.

If you want to get a head start on team preparedness...you can download the swimtopia app that we use for EVERYTHING during the season. I will go over all the info regarding the use of this app at the meeting on Friday.

At this point we are still hoping to be in the pool by the pre team first practice/orientation at 8am June 30th
